From Necessary Being to Allāh

So far, it has been demonstrated that:

  • It is impossible for more than one necessary being to exist.
  • Only the necessary being is beginningless.
  • The necessary being will never come to an end [1].
  • The necessary being has no parents or siblings.
  • The necessary being has no literal children.
  • The necessary being is immaterial.
  • The necessary being is attributed with will.
  • The necessary being is attributed with life.
  • The necessary being is attributed with omniscience.
  • The necessary being is attributed with omnipotence.
  • The necessary being is a creator.
  • The necessary being can hear all.
  • The necessary being can see all.
  • The necessary being is able to speak and communicate.
  • The necessary being has no limitations to its attributes, unlike all other beings, which are contingent.
  • It is impossible for the necessary being to share the same exact attributes with contingent beings.

All of these descriptions is what it means to be Allāh (God). Therefore, the necessary being is Allāh. Furthermore, since there can only be one necessary being, and the necessary being is Allāh, then there is only one God. Therefore, atheism and polytheism are false.

[1] It is possible for a contingent being to end, and it is also possible for it to continue to exist forever, as the necessary being can sustain its existence by continuously actualizing its potential to exist. However, a contingent being cannot be beginningless, as discussed in the monotheism and emanationism article.
